I don’t usually post things like this, but I feel like I have to. What happened to the child at ICON Park is absolutely disgusting. The lack of care coming from the operators and the response after the fact is repulsive. The owners and operators need to be held liable to the fullest extent that our judicial system allows. I have worked in the theme park industry. I was a lifeguard and rider operator for a local theme park for two years. I have had to turn away guests due to height, weight, medical concerns, etc. I have had to jump in and save both children and adults due to other guard’s negligence. I sometimes even hurt myself in the process to make sure that a child or guest made it out relatively unscathed. What happen at ICON Park was nothing more than blatant negligence on both the operators part and the owners. Train your staff better. Quit hiring a bunch of 18 to 20 year old kids who don’t understand the full gravity of their jobs for easily exploitable cheap labor to operate rides like this. I WAS ONE OF THOSE KIDS! We need to do better because this is not okay. What happened to Tyre Sampson is not okay. Tyre, you deserved better. I am so sorry the employees of ICON Park of Orlando failed you.
